AS310 - Stinger Alarm / Common Issues

Battery not holding charge or not charging

Check 12V supply to Alarm, Check charging current (In line with 12V supply, 0-550mA, Hardware reset to force charge cycle) – 30 Hour Charge Cycle.

Low Battery

Often caused by damaged/broken Battery Switch on “Green” PCB pre May 2012 systems.
Fixed Post May 2012 on “Blue” PCB with switch relocated to the PCB.

Marker Lights not flashing on arm / disarm of system

Generally no 12V supply to Alarm System (Swift - Check Fuse 12).
Test 12V supply by listening for Awning Relay Switch on activation.

Awning Light not operating

As with marker lights, this requires a 12V supply. Check that the awning light works manually (If not there is a problem with the circuit, not the alarm). There is an internal fuse inline with the awning circuit on the alarm PCB that would prevent operation via the alarm only.

Key Fobs not working

Check battery (Torch), Could have been lost from system, Attempt erase and re-learn of fobs. (Experienced key-fobs being lost from the system during a power issue, i.e. Flattened leisure battery).

Key fob Intermittent Operation

Stuck rolling code operation, try a few more arm attempts or local interference check for other wireless equipment and turn off. Check green antenna cable is free from all other cables.

Instant Siren On Arming

PIR Fault, PIR Cable Fault, Re connect cable at both ends. Usually accompanied by 5 beeps on disarm.

PIR False Alarming / Not operating

Check sensitivity for climate condition, Check for direct sunlight to PIR, Check if tracker unit installed close to alarm system. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the face of the PIR.

Faulty capacitor

Batch issue with component C15, which leaks onto PCB – System does not operate when connected to 12V supply.

Voltage Drop / Cold Weather False Alarms

Green Wire fix, Connection from Pin 6 Fault Signal output to 0v. Fixed Post April 2011.

Lost Arm/Disarm Beeps

This can sometimes be cured with a hardware reset, but has been knows to re-occur at a later date, following a reset the base unit should be replaced if the fault re-occurs.
