The battery current reading seems incorrect on my EC325 / EC328 / EC300 control panel.

The battery current reading seems incorrect on my EC325 / EC328 / EC300 control panel.

If the battery current reading seems incorrect on any of the listed control panels, you may need to calibrate the current sensor in the PSU to the control panel in order to get a true reading.

All of the above panels share the same layout and menu, so these instructions cover all these panels.

Make note of the software version on the main screen, if it V1.2, V1.4 or V1.4 you will need to carry out a further step to store the calibration data.  If you have V2 or above it will not be necessary.
Note: If you have a solar panel fitted you should cover it or disconnect it to ensure a correct calibration.  If this isn't feasible you can simply carry out this procedure at night.
Turn off the mains charger at the switch on the top right of the PSU (if you are not on mains hook up you don't need to do this).

Now that all sources of charge current are off you need to turn off the control panel power button (top left button) to ensure that the leisure loads in the van are disconnected.  At this point you should turn off the fridge locally as this is still powered when the control panel is off.

Use the down arrow button to scroll to battery current (the control panel menu system still operates with the leisure power off).

Press and hold the select button – this is the button in the middle of the arrow buttons.  After a few seconds the screen will read ‘Calibrating Please Wait” for a few seconds then drop back to the battery current screen.  If you have any V1.x software you need to do this a second time to store the new values.  If you have any version V2.x you have now finished.

The current sensor is now correctly calibrated.

The screen should now read 0.0A when the backlight times out, with the backlight on you may get a reading of-0.1A, this is normal and nothing to worry about.

If you now turn on your control panel and put a few lights on you should see a negative current reading on the display.  Turn on your charger and you should see the reading go positive as the battery should now be charging.
