Can I add extra solar panels to my system?

Can I add extra solar panels to my system?

The limiting factor on how much solar you can connect to a Sargent PSU (Power Supply Unit) is dependant on the fuse that is protecting the solar circuit. This is different depending on which system you have.

Below is a list of PSU series and the maximum recommended solar wattage to be connected to the PSU.
  1. EC325 – 120w
  1. EC328 – 120w
  1. EC400 – 80w
  1. EC500 – 120w
  1. EC600 – 120w
  1. EC700 – 150w
  1. EC800 – 150w
  1. EC400+ - 150w
You can add more solar if you connect the extra panels directly onto the leisure battery via a regulator and an appropriately sized fuse to protect the circuit. The down side to connecting directly onto the Leisure battery with your extra solar and not connecting it through the PSU is, you will not get a solar reading on the control panel for the additional solar input.

Other systems in our range don’t have a solar input on the PSU’s so these would all need to be connected directly onto the leisure battery via a regulator and an appropriately sized fuse to protect the circuit.

There is no limit to the amount of solar wattage you can install, if you are connecting the solar directly on to the leisure battery.
